SandpiperCI was established in 2007 and is jointly owned by Independent private equity firm Duke Street and real estate fund management group Europa Capital.

Duke Street has extensive experience in consumer facing companies with offices in London and Paris. It was founded in 1988 and focuses on mid-market, leveraged buy-outs, investing in established UK and French businesses with enterprise values of up to €500 million.

Europa Capital is a highly experienced European Real Estate Investment Management business. To date, Europa Capital has committed to over €6 billion in Europe in a variety of transactions in 17 countries, ranging from single assets and portfolio acquisitions to buy-outs.
Given the significance of both the Group’s retail businesses, Europa Capital was established to combine their expertise to enhance the business's retail performance and utilise the property more effectively.

SandpiperCI's core strategy has been to reconfigure the Company around its successful food retailing business and to develop its partnership with  key UK retail partners. As a result we have a significant program of store development as we seek to develop our own stores through range enhancements and improved facilities together with the introduction of many well known brands to the Channel Islands.
