About Costa Coffee

Costa Coffee was established in 1971 and is a brand that takes pride in providing coffee that is made by experts. Every single barista, in every single Costa store is professionally trained in the art of coffee to ensure that customers get a perfect cup of Costa coffee every time.

Sandpiper began its relationship with Costa Coffee in 2008 with the launch of the first Costa Coffee outlet in the Channel Islands in central St Helier, Jersey.    The second Costa Coffee opened at Admiral Park, Guernsey in September 2009 within our Checkers Admiral Park supermarket.   A third outlet with 61 seats opened in the Commercial Arcade, St Peter Port, Guernsey on 3rd March.

SandpiperCI will soon be opening a Costa Coffee at the major new retail development, Liberty Wharf, in Jersey.

SandpiperCI, CEO Tony O’Neill said, “We were always confident that Costa Coffee’s first class brand status would be a success in the Channel Islands. Within the first few days of opening our store in Admiral Park, our customers were asking for another in St Peter Port. We have been looking for the right site for some time and Commercial Arcade has the advantage of being a pedestrian precinct enabling us to introduce an alfresco area.”

It is believed that the success of Costa Coffee in the Channel Islands is due to its firmly rooted heritage in serving coffee the Italian way.

It is the market leader in the UK with more than 750 stores providing authentic coffee and bakery products.

Staff in the new outlets always undergo Barista training at Costa’s highly regarded academy in the UK.
