Gourmet Burger Kitchen
The award winning food chain, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (gbk), opened its first restaurant in Jersey in February 2011. It is located on the site of ‘Signature Restaurant’ at 75 / 77 Halkett Place, St Helier.
SandpiperCI is also proud to announce that GBK is now open in Guernsey and is located at Units 6 & 7, Market Building, St Peter Port .
First established in 2001 by three New Zealanders, Gourmet Burger Kitchen is all about the burger. Their aim was to take the humble burger and treat it with the respect it had back in New Zealand- with quality ingredients and fresh as a daisy. They had some simple rules - always serve the best burgers and have fun. To great acclaim, the first restaurant opened in Battersea, London. Since that day, gbk’s love of food has been spreading around the UK where there are now 50 restaurants - from Brighton to Edinburgh and now, soon to be in Jersey. Gbk is proud of their New Zealand heritage and want that spirit to show whenever you eat at their restaurants.
Gbk goes to extraordinary lengths to make sure their burgers are the freshest and tastiest out there, and with the help of world renowned chef Peter Gordon, has created classic and innovative taste combinations to make the 'best burgers in town' - from the deliciously stacked ‘KiwiBurger’ and spicy ‘Mexican’ Burger to classic flavour combinations like chicken, camembert and cranberry; or beef, avocado and bacon.
Everything is made to order, including the sauces which are made every day from scratch in each restaurant. The burger buns are made to a secret recipe by gbk’s artisan baker and the beef patties are made with 100% Aberdeen Angus beef. Gbk is proud of what they do so the kitchen’s are on show - and one thing you will never see is a microwave.
Gbk’s awards include Time Out’s Top Ten Burgers, Retailers Best Concept and Best Burger in Harden’s London Restaurant Review.
