Prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs award for Cimandis

Cimandis, the largest food service provider in the Channel Islands recently won a prestigious award from the UK’s leading Chefs’ association, the Craft Guild of Chefs.

They were presented the ‘Company Award’ at a ceremony in London in recognition for services to, and support for the Guild.

The presentation held at the Chefs Guild lunch was attended by some of the most prestigious industry chefs that work in the House of Commons and the Queen’s Executive Chef.

The Cimandis team were thrilled to have been recognised for their services to the Craft Guild of Chefs. Recently Cimandis embarked on a partnership with Highlands College and the Guernsey College of Further Education. Highlands College, whose Head of Catering Eileen-Buike Kelly, also received an award for her support and enthusiasm for the industry.

The local branch of the Craft Guild of Chefs interviewed and selected two students from Highlands College to work with Jamie Oliver’s team at Fifteen in London. Eileen Buike-Kelly has strong links with the London programme and Cimandis provided sponsorship to enable the students to take part in the much-sought-after programme.

Cimandis consists of five manufacturing and distribution businesses trading across the Channel Islands: Jersey Foodservice, Guernsey Foodservice Warry’s, C.I. Bakery and Channel Rentals. The company supplies into the retail, catering and licensed trades with a wide range of products including fresh meat, produce and fish along with soft drinks and ambient, frozen and chilled items. Cimandis is also proud to operate the main bakeries in both islands and over 40% of business is generated through retail markets.
