Prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs award for Cimandis

Cimandis, the largest food service provider in the Channel Islands recently won a prestigious award from the UK’s leading Chefs’ association, the Craft Guild of Chefs.
Cimandis were presented the ‘Company Award’ at a ceremony in London last week in recognition for services to, and support for the Guild.
Sales Director Martina McGibney said: “It was an honour to be invited to the Chefs Guild lunch and receive this award. It was overwhelming to be in a room with some of the most prestigious industry chefs that work in the House of Commons and the Queen’s Executive Chef.
“The team at Cimandis are really thrilled to have been recognised for their services to the Craft Guild of Chefs. It has been fantastic to be involved with Highlands College and the Guernsey College of Further Education. We have just embarked on a partnership with Highlands College, whose Head of Catering Eileen-Buike Kelly also received an award for her support and enthusiasm for the industry.”
The local branch of the Craft Guild of Chefs have recently interviewed and selected two students from Highlands College to work with Jamie Oliver’s team at Fifteen in London. Eileen Buike-Kelly has strong links with the London programme and Cimandis have provided sponsorship to enable the students to take part in the much-sought-after programme.

St. Pierre Park mini refurbishment

Guernsey’s only true resort hotel, the St. Pierre Park has recently undergone a mini refurbishment. Five garden spa-rooms have been created overlooking the beautiful parkland grounds and lake.
The premier function room and spacious reception areas have also been refurbished and now have a fresh contemporary look.
Early feed back from guests has been very encouraging, the hotel was at capacity over the Easter holiday period and advance bookings for 2012 are up on previous years promising an even better year than last.
The hotel’s General Manager, Dina Le Lacheur said: “On-going investment in the St Pierre Park is important if we’re to meet our guests high expectations. I’m very pleased with the recent improvements and clearly so are our guests. We’ve had some very positive comments from both holiday makers and business travelers, many of which return year after year.”
The spa-rooms include private garden areas, balcony hot-tubs, garden furniture and comfortable sun loungers.
