SandpiperCI announces further expansion into Liberty Wharf
Costa Coffee and a new franchise to Jersey, Pasty Presto, will open in Liberty Wharf - the Waterfront’s new granite paved, covered shopping mall - in May.
The news follows SandpiperCI’s announcement last month that it would be opening a new 10,000 square feet Marks and Spencer Home store on the site in June.
Jersey’s Costa Coffee first opened its doors in the Bath Street, Checkers Xpress two years ago. The store’s success has encouraged Sandpiper to open a second 50 seat coffee shop, with an alfresco area within the food and beverage development area at Liberty Wharf.
Pasty Presto is the leader in the fast growing market of authentic Cornish Pasty retailers. Originally starting in 1994 as a single shop in Mevagissey, Cornwall, Presto set the standards for the best authentic hand made Cornish Pasties using the finest ingredients available. The successful formula worked and Presto stores have expanded throughout the country including a store which opened recently in the heart of St Peter Port and is performing significantly ahead of expectations.
Sandpiper CEO, Tony O’Neill said: “Sandpiper intend to have a large presence in Liberty Wharf. We’ve already announced that we will open a large Marks & Spencer Home store later in the year. Pasty Presto and Costa Coffee are top notch brands which fit well into our retail portfolio and will help to create a quality retail offering within the development. Our customers have already shown how much they like these brands in both Jersey and Guernsey and they will complement this new and exciting shopping mall.
Sandpiper is currently in discussion with other major high street brands and anticipates making further Liberty Wharf announcements over the coming months.
