About Waitrose
Waitrose, member of the John Lewis partnership and whose reputation has been built on the quality and freshness of their food, was not available to Channel Islands shoppers until recently.
It all changed in 2008 when SandpiperCI introduced the Waitrose brand to Channel Islands shoppers by launching 3,000 grocery lines in Checkers. We have also evolved and added to the range throughout 2009 and will continue to bring even more high quality, exciting and delicious Waitrose lines to our customers in the future.
Waitrose fits perfectly with Checkers' objective to provide our customers with “all the right ingredients”, particularly fresh, high quality food that offers great value for money.
Checkers now stocks an extensive range of ambient, frozen, fresh and chilled Waitrose lines from sausages to delicious ready meals; tinned vegetables and pulses to indulgent chilled desserts. Checkers also now stocks several Waitrose Essentials lines following the launch of Waitrose Essentials in the UK earlier this year.
Shaun Rankin recently used several Waitrose products in his cookery demonstration at Checkers St Saviour on 26 September - all of which are normally available for sale in that store.
Waitrose holds a Royal Warrant with Her Majesty The Queen. A Royal Warrant is a mark of recognition to people or companies who have regularly supplied goods or services for at least five years to certain members of the Royal Family. They have always been regarded as a mark of excellence and quality, and are highly prized. Waitrose previously held a longstanding Warrant with Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
