It’s time – after much anticipation, the brand-new M&S Food Wimborne Minister has today
(Thursday 12th October) officially opened its doors. The store team gathered at the entrance at 9am
with Store Manager, Debbie Foot, who was joined by pupils from St John’s CE VC First School to help
cut the ribbon. They were also joined by Wimborne Minster Town Mayor, Councillor Diann March,
Wimborne Minster’s own Town Crier, and of course M&S’s beloved Percy Pig, to help declare the
store officially open.
Located in the Crown Mead shopping centre, the new M&S Food store will be operated by
Sandpiper Stores, part of SandpiperCI Group, which has worked with M&S for more than 50 years.
The store offers local shoppers a delicious range of M&S Food favourites, including fresh produce
and meat from M&S Select Farms, an M&S Flower Shop, popular freshly-prepared meals and a
selection of frozen and store cupboard essentials. The store also has an M&S Bakery, and a digital
Click & Collect service for shopping Clothing & Home products from marksandspencer.com.
As well as creating 25 new jobs in the local community, the new-look M&S Food Wimborne Minster
store represents a significant investment in the local economy.
And with new lower prices on the M&S Remarksable ranges – including Super Soft sliced bread,
RSCPA Assured fresh milk, and beef mince from trusted M&S Select Farmers – the new M&S Food
store will deliver trusted value for local customers.
Customers will also be able to make the most of convenient ways to pay, with plenty of checkouts
for speedy service and a digital screen in store will also make it quicker and easier to Click & Collect
orders from marksandspencer.com.
The team have been counting down the days to opening, and this morning a queue of eager local
customers formed to get the first look inside, with Percy Pig on-hand to surprise and welcome
dedicated shoppers to the new store.
Soaking up the opening day celebrations, Operations Director for Sandpiper Stores, Caroline Slowey-
Dickinson said: “We are thrilled to open our brand-new M&S Food store today in Wimborne Minster.
The last few weeks have been spent putting the finishing touches to our new store and I’d like to thank

The new M&S Food Wimborne Minster is ideal for stocking up on your M&S favourites, or calling in
on your way home for dinner inspiration. The store is located at Units 3 & 4, Crown Mead Shopping
Centre, Wimborne Minster, BH21 1ED and will be open Monday – Saturday 8am-8pm, and on
Sunday 10am-4pm.
