SandpiperCI Supports Employees through Further Education

Sandpiper employees from Marks and Spencer, Morrisons, Iceland, and Checkers Express recently finished a 32-week program to earn a qualification while working in the industry.

Head of M&S Foods Jersey, David Lavington said, “Congratulations to all our colleagues across M&S and the Sandpiper group who completed the course, a really great achievement and one they should all be very proud of. Well done and keep working hard.”

11 of our employees completed Level 2 or Level 3 Trackers Courses in Retail, which consisted of six modules, including:

  1. Understanding customer service in the retail sector

  2. Understanding the retail selling process

  3. Understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business

  4. Understanding how a retail business maintains health and safety on its premises

  5. Understanding retail consumer law

  6. Understanding how to deal with customer queries and complaints in a retail environment.

Apprentices were given a dedicated and qualified mentor who guided them through their apprenticeship. Using coaching and mentoring techniques including personal reflection, performance review, goal setting and action planning.
