Monthly charity round-up March 2023

March has been a busy month, with lots going on, from supporting local events to raffle prize donations. Below is our monthly round-up of charity donations for the last month.

Netball Inter-Insulars

We were pleased to support the Jersey Netball Association with their annual Inter-Insular event by donating 160 cereal bars and 160 bananas from Morrisons Daily. M&S were also happy to support by donating 120 sandwiches over the two day sporting event. This event made a welcome return after a four-year absence – with Jersey winning all but one game.

Sanitary Products donation to the Women's Refuge

Morrisons Daily celebrated International Women's Day this year by donating to Jersey and Guernsey Women's Refuge. Morrisons pledged to donate sanitary products and encouraged shoppers to support by purchasing the products as well – for every one bought, Morrisons donated one.

Jersey Sport Raffle

We were pleased to support Jersey Sport with their charity raffle by donating an M&S Hamper. The fundraising event was to help Jersey Sport raise funds to continue to lead, champion and enable participation and excellence in sports throughout the island.

Guernsey Acute Mental Health ward

We were more than happy to support the Guernsey Acute Mental Health ward by donating a £25 voucher as a raffle prize for their bingo night.

Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club

We were pleased to support the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club with their quiz night by donating a bottle of Processco and a tub of chocolates as raffle prizes. All proceeds from this event went towards running of the club.

Le Rocquier School Leavers Ball

We were happy to help a local secondary school, Le Rocquier, by donating a £20 Costa Coffee voucher as a raffle prize for their school leavers ball.

Maison St Brelade Care Home

We were delighted to support the Care Home's Easter raffle event by donating some yummy Easter Eggs. Maison St Brelade is a local assisted living care facility that currently houses 50 residents.

Finance department 'Dress Down Friday'

Every week the Finance department hosts 'Dress Down Friday' in order to raise money for their chosen charity of the month. The team proudly raised a total of £100 in March for the Jersey Women's Refuge.

Jersey Eisteddfod Festival of Creative Arts

This festival is both a competition and a showcase for creative projects from young primary school children all the way to senior citizens. We were delighted to help support such a worthwhile event by donating a tray and set of mugs from Morrisons as a raffle prize. All proceeds from the raffle went towards financing the event.

Jersey Hospice ' Stars in their Eyes' event

On Saturday 25th March the Jersey Hospice held their Stars in their Eyes event to raise money for the charity. We were happy to support such a worthwhile cause by donating a case of wine as one of the prizes.

Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal

Throughout March, we had collection buckets available in all our stores across the Channel Islands to help those affected by the devasting earthquake in Turkey and Syria. We are extremely grateful to our customers and staff for their generosity. We raised a total of £5,891.71 for the Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.

Dementia Jersey Easter Raffle

We were pleased to support Dementia Jersey with their Easter raffle by donating three yummy Easter eggs. The proceeds from this event went towards supporting local people living with dementia and their careers.
