iQ Guernsey donate iPad Pro to Adult Hospital Services

5th November

iQ Guernsey has kindly donated an iPad Pro to Adult Hospital Services to be used for eye gaze assessments, for those with progressive disorders.

For service users whose speech ability and motor function has deteriorated, this iPad Pro will be used to assess their comfort at using an infrared eye gaze system to work text-to-speech communication.

Fiona Gardiner, Speech and language therapist, said:

“As Speech and language therapists, we believe that everyone has a right to a voice, no matter how that is delivered. This is why we are so grateful for this donation, which will be of great benefit to a number of people who we support.”

Caroline Slowey-Dickinson, Brand Director for iQ Guernsey, said:

“When Fiona approached us for support we were more than happy to help such a worthy project. How our products will benefit others and deliver support functions is truly amazing and a further example how Apple products continue to reach so many people in so many different ways.”

This will benefit clients with a range of degenerative conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinson’s and Multiple sclerosis. Progressive neurological disorders are conditions where there is a progressive deterioration in functioning. Progression may be gradual over many years, or even decades or more rapidly over weeks and months. These disorders are likely to affect the individual for the rest of their life.

Les Quennevais School Careers Fair

9th November

SandpiperCI was delighted to attend the careers fair at Les Quennevais School this week. The team had a great day meeting students from year 8 to year 11 and chatting to them about their career aspirations and what they can expect from a career in retail. Fantastic event – thank you for having us!
