Initiating as a youthful and uncoordinated presence of fur, Piper has since undergone an impressive transformation, maturing into the gentle and nurturing guide dog he is today. Placed under the guidance of a puppy walker to initiate early training, Piper's development over the last decade has been truly exceptional.  Recently Piper and his owner, Mary, were graciously invited to Bagshot Park, Berkshire, the residence of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron of Guide Dogs. This invitation, accompanied by a special 'Putting my paws up' dog tag, to symbolize their appreciation for Piper's unwavering service.

While his active service has reached its conclusion, Piper’s legacy of dedication and companionship will remain. Mary and her husband have chosen to retain Piper as a beloved member of their family, ensuring a nurturing and loving retirement for this exceptional guide dog. His story stands as a testament to the enduring and extraordinary bond between guide dogs and their dedicated owners. Over the years we have had the privilege of hosting Guide Dogs UK as they conduct training sessions within Sandpiper stores and we can't wait to continue our partnership with this amazing service!
