National Trust Volunteering April 2023
This week, another group of willing volunteers rolled up their sleeves to get stuck into our next event with the National Trust for Jersey.

Tackling Purple Dew
Once again, under the supervision of National Trust volunteer Ranger Josh, the team were tasked with removing the invasive and non-native Purple Dew plant that carpets areas of St Ouen's bay and suffocates our native coastal plants and displaces nesting insects.
Team effort
The Purple Dew thrives in sandy and salty environments, but its roots are very easy to hand-pull out of the sand. The National Trust were astonished that the team managed to fill all of their five bags in under the two hours allotted!
