Costa’s first donation was to, The Guernsey Dynamics Football Team, which is a team for men with learning disabilities to play football together. They held a Quiz night to help raise funds for the club which was in founded in 2008.

The club have played against the likes of Everton, Arsenal and Southampton as well as competing in three Special Olympics, winning a silver medal in Cardiff (2001), a gold medal in Glasgow (2005), and a silver medal in Leicester (2009).

The second donation was made to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Guernsey also fondly known as PEH. PEH is  Guernsey’s only acute hospital and opened in 1949.

We were delighted to provide vouchers to a local nurse who organised an afternoon tea and raffle to raise funds for new supplies and equipment for dementia patients on the ward.

Finally, we donated vouchers to Jersey Eating Disorder Support (JEDS). JEDs is operated by a group of volunteers that have either lived with or cared for someone who has an eating disorder. The charity’s mission is to provide a safe forum for people to discuss their stories, whether they are personally impacted or are family members or friends concerned about a loved one who struggles with eating disorders.

JEDS has witnessed a significant increase in members, and we were pleased to donate vouchers for their fundraiser quiz night in early July, which raised money to ensure that sufferers and their families receive the necessary support and counselling.

If you wish to apply for a donation for your charity raffle or wish to apply to have a bag pack in one of our stores please write to “Donations” at Traders House, 1-2 Avenue Le Bas, St Saviour, Jersey, JE2 8NB
